Ethical & Sustainability Responsibilities
Apart from doing special-makes in our Studio, Napier NZ, we do not own any manufacturing facilities, but we take steps to ensure the partners we work with are managed to the highest possible ethical and social standards.
Design Emporium seeks to work with manufacturers that have accreditation to prove they are World Fair Trading Organisation (WFTO) compliant. The WFTO is a world leading supply chain management system which supports companies in driving compliance and improvements within their supply chains. WFTO provides companies with auditing methodology and reporting tools to help audit, train and influence activities to improve labor conditions and offer safe and positive working environments for factory staff.
Design Emporium currently works with a clothing manufacturing plant based in Indonesia that scores well in the above categories in external WFTO audits and who are committed to improving sustainability practices.
They are the first Apparel Manufacturing plant in Indonesia to acquire this accreditation
